The easiest way to reach Mayapur from Kolkata is the train. First, take a train to Krishnanagar or Nabadwip Dham. Then, cross to the Mayapur side by rickshaw, boat or bus. In total, plan for four to five hours, because the last stretch depends on the river crossing and the traffic.
Reach Mayapur from Kolkata by train
- From Sealdah: trains run to Krishnanagar in about two hours.
- From Howrah: trains run to Nabadwip Dham in about three hours, and many services leave through the day.
- Note: some intercity trains do not run on Sundays, so check the timetable before you travel.
Trains can be crowded. Therefore, book a reserved seat early, especially during festivals such as Gaura Purnima.
