The Royal Blue Harmonium: A Companion for Your Daily Kirtan

Harmonium 3 Line 9 Scale Changer Beauty of Blue [ Palitan, 37 Reeds, 440hz / 432 Hz] Free Shipping

For many devotees, the harmonium is the first thing that comes out in the morning. It sits beside the Deities and the japa beads and supports the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. A good harmonium helps you sing with devotion.

Our Royal Blue Premium Scale Changer Harmonium is made for this purpose. It is a hand-finished instrument with a blue design that stands out on the altar or in the temple room, and its tone suits a long kirtan.

Royal blue 3 line 9 scale changer harmonium with Burma teak wood

Made from Solid Burma Teak

The body is solid Burma teak (Tectona grandis). Teak is valued for its strength and its steady, resonant tone. The wood gives the sound a warm, rounded quality that carries well in a room. The royal blue finish is applied by hand, so the border design can vary slightly from one instrument to the next. Each harmonium is a little different from the others.

Three Sets of Palitana Reeds

The sound comes from the reeds. This harmonium has three sets of Palitana reeds, set up as Male-Male-Female or Bass-Male-Female, so you get a full tone. The coupler system lets you layer the sets for a richer, deeper sound during kirtan. You can also play one set for quiet personal practice.

You can choose the reed quality that suits your budget:

  • Premium: Premier Star reeds
  • Standard: RT Deluxe reeds

9-Scale Changer, 37 Keys

The scale changer makes this a practical instrument for leading kirtan. When the key doesn’t suit the singer, you can shift the whole harmonium without relearning your fingering. This helps when you play for different voices at a programme or at home with family. The harmonium has:

  • 37 full-sized keys, a 3.5-octave range
  • A choice of 440 Hz or 432 Hz tuning
  • Quality paper bellows for a smooth, steady airflow
  • Pitch checked by hand before dispatch

It is a compact, portable version, so you can carry it to sankirtana, harinam or a friend’s home.

Who Is It For?

  • Kirtan leaders who want a reliable instrument with a rich sound
  • Temples and home altars that want something beautiful as well as practical
  • Singers and students who want a scale changer for practice
  • Anyone giving a meaningful gift for a wedding, a home blessing or an initiation
